Social Harmony
Establishing social harmony in villages is very important. Through this, mutual brotherhood, cooperation, and friendship increase in society. Under the Ideal Village Scheme of the Surya Foundation, various programs such as Gram Gaurav Mela and collective voluntary work are organized to promote social harmony in villages. As a result, it is evident that the feeling of caste discrimination and social hierarchy is decreasing in the villages.

Gram Gaurav Mela
Increase mutual brotherhood in the village. To create a feeling of social harmony, the Gram Gaurav Mela is organized. This nine-day festival held during Navratri is decorated with nine programs.

Various programs such as Kalash Yatra, cleanliness, home decor, rangoli, art, beauty contest, worship of parents, Durga path, bhajan-kirtan, and physical competitions are held daily. From children to the elderly, women and men, everyone participates in this festival with enthusiasm. The entire village celebrates Navratri in unity. This program is held every year and lakhs of people participate in it in 400 villages across the country."

A collective effort
The children of the cultural center and the youth of the India Youth Club have taken a pledge to keep the village clean. Together, every Sunday, they volunteer to clean public places in the village such as temples, schools, roads, Panchayat buildings, playgrounds, etc. This creates a sense of service and awareness towards cleanliness. After witnessing these children in action, many villagers also started participating in volunteer work and as a result, the village transformed into a clean and beautiful village."
