Education enables people to become aware of about their common shared history and culture. This engenders a sense of kinship and commitment to their brethren giving rise to national consciousness and a sense of patriotism. It also spurs economic growth and social progress, necessary prerequisites for a country to become great. Padma Shri Jaiprakash Agarwal, Chairman Surya Foundation, in his clarion call has said, quote” O, My Dear Countrymen, Come and Join the Mission, to Make Our Bharat, A great Nation!!, unquote. Towards the fulfilment of this noble mission, Surya Foundation is contributing its mite by seeking to improve the quality of education being imparted in the country, in addition to other endeavours.

School Bharti Organisation (SBO)
Surya Foundation's through the medium of SBO conducts training for school principals and teachers, putting them through Teachers Personality Development Camps (TPDC), where they are exposed to the best practices in pedagogy. Around 650 schools across the country are associated with the SBO and their principals and teachers attend Camps.
Its workshops and seminars raise awareness about the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aimed at keeping India's education system contemporary and relevant.
Additionally, SBO conducts personality development camps for students. These camps help lakhs of students to develop skills and qualities necessary for them to succeed, both professionally and personally. SBO is making a perceptible difference in the lives of the educators and students across the country as it endeavours to improve the quality of education being imparted. In the process it is ensuring that India's future generations are adequately equipped to become contributing members of society and patriotic Indians.

Surya Eklavya Sainik School, Gujarat
Kanya Siksha Parisar, Madhya Pradesh

2010 onwards, Surya Foundation has been running the Surya Eklavya Sainik School in Kherancha, near the world-famous Shyamalaji Temple in the Aravalli district of Gujarat. This residential school operates on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model in collaboration with the Gujarat State Tribal Education Society. It has been imparting education to children hailing from tribal communities. Presently the strength of the school is 450 students.
The school has achieved close to 100 percent results in classes 10th and 12th, and its students have won hundreds of awards at the district, state, and national levels.
After witnessing the success of Surya Foundation, in running the Surya Eklavya Sainik School, the Madhya Pradesh government entrusted the responsibility of running the government girls' education complex, “Kanya Siksha Parisar, Sehore’” to the Surya Foundation on the PPP model.
Approximately 475 girls from tribal communities are studying in this school. Within one year, these students have achieved noteworthy successes both in academics and various sports activities.

Surya Sanskar Kendra
Surya Foundation runs Surya Sanskar Kendras in 234 villages in 18 states of India. Children from grades 1 to 6 come to these centres for education and character building. The centres offer activities that help children develop both physically and mentally. Every day, for 2 hours, the centres conduct activities that include academics, patriotic and devotional songs, stories of great people, and games. All of these activities teach children valuable lessons.

Adult Education Centre
Even in this day and age, there are adults who cannot even sign because they are not literate. To address this issue, Surya Foundation has started Adult Education Centres at 10 different locations to provide basic education to such adults. The impact of has been significant. They no longer need help from others to read letters and have even started managing their own bank accounts.

Surya Bharti Books
Under the aegis of Surya Foundation, Surya Bharti Books has published a set of textbooks designed for students from class 1 to class 5. Inputs from prominent educationists from institutions such as NCERT, DIET, NIOS, KVS, NVS, And VIDYA BHARTI etc., were obtained and incorporated in these books, which follow the one-class-one-book (all subjects integrated) approach.
In a single book, the entire curriculum of a class is integrated according to the guidelines of the National Education Policy 2020. This not only reduces the burden on students but also lowers the cost associated with education. Moreover, these books provide an excellent tool for students to learn through creative discussions, analysis, examples, and practical applications.
These books are being introduced in more and more educational institutions and schools across the country, following different educational programs and schemes.
